Whoopi Goldberg Slams Treatment of Tiffany Trump at NYFW - and Tiffany Responds

Whoopi Goldberg Tiffany Trump

After an Elle fashion editor tweeted about switching seats at New York Fashion Week so that she and other editors wouldn't have to sit by Tiffany Trump, Whoopi Goldberg has come to the first daughter's defense.

Goldberg defended Tiffany Trump, 23, on Wednesday's edition of the talk show.

"Tiffany, I'm coming to sit with you, because nobody's talking politics. I do not know what will happen, but I will come and sit with you". "She's looking at the fashion!" the co-host said.

"She was surrounded by photographers, and the two women who moved were leaning away - they clearly didn't want to be in those photographs", says Binkley, who was seated a few seats down from the first daughter.

Goldberg, who has been a vocal opponent of the new president, noted there was a difference between the movement of boycotting Ivanka Trump's clothing line and the cold shoulder given to Tiffany. There is a difference. "That's all about buying stuff. I'll find your ass and sit next to you!"

Not only did the seat change disrupt the Philipp Plein show, those present tweeted their stance against sitting next to President Trump's daughter. "There were also photos posted of Tiffany with empty seats next to her". So fashion editors could have shunned Melania and Ivanka Trump too.

@BinkleyOnStyle How proud you "stylists" must be!

It's hard to blame fashion editors for feeling the need to protect their own brands/careers during these turbulent times, but still, anyone else getting very high school-ish (possibly Mean Girls-esque) vibes from this sitch?

We think the talk show host is a class act!

Fashion blogger Christina Binkley was quick to spread the embarrassment for Tiffany.

@BinkleyOnStyle Perfect example of adult bullying.

"I'm not a politician..."

Regarding her excuse, we'll just leave this here... "I think that's so bad".
