Uber's president quits, cites differences in leadership, beliefs
The company has lost a prominent top executive, President Jeff Jones, who was overseeing its branding, customer support and operations divisions. Oh, and a few weeks ago, the company was caught using a program that would identify possible investigators and employees of rival ride-sharing companies and show them a fake version of the app that prevented them from getting rides.
He signed off by saying the company has "thousands of fantastic people at the company" and he wishes everyone at the company well. So when Kalanick announced earlier this month that he would hire a chief operating officer to help him run the company, Jones's role came into question. At the beginning of March 2017, another high-level executive resigned, namely Charlie Miller - Uber's Vice President for product and growth.
According to Recode, Jones spent time meeting with drivers in an attempt to better understand their circumstances, communicating with them via email on what Uber's plans were.
