Google Home's assistant can now recognize different voices

Google Home can also order items from more than 50 retailers across the United States by voice and set flight tracking alerts.

With support for multiple accounts, Google Home can pull up personalized information like playlists and calendar events.

The news of Google Home being able to support multiple accounts should not come as a surprise to close followers of the intelligent assistant. To start the setup process, look for the card that says "multi-user is available" in the Google Home app. Thanks to the way Google rolls out features, it might take a few days. There you will find Google Home from the list; select "Link your account".

From there, you'll train the Google Assistant to recognize your voice so that it knows it's you when you're talking and not the other people with connected accounts. When you first add your details to the smart speaker, it asks you to say two trigger phrases - "Ok Google" and "Hey Google" - two times each. If you've ever said to the speaker "OK Google, good morning", you know it will tell you the time, weather, schedule, and news. "We have nothing to announce on multiple accounts per user", a spokesperson told The Verge.

"Starting today, I can-and so can you". So if someone shares their calendar with you, or if your employer uses Google Apps for Work, you won't be able to add add these calendars to Google Home.

That meant, if you wanted to ask Google Home what your next appointment was, or whether there was congestion on the commute in to work, the Google Assistant could only base its answers on the one account now signed in. Although Orchowski has publically stated that multidevice scene controls on the Google Home can not be used to the same level of Siri and Alexa just yet.

Change what Google calls you by choosing Personal Info, then Nickname. With Google Home, often being a shared device, it can be tricky to balance privacy and personalization. It also includes features such as nickname, work location, payment information, and linked accounts like Google Play, Spotify or Netflix. This was made known today by Yury Pinsky, Product Manager Google Assistant in a blog post. Whenever someone uses one of those phrases in the future to ask the Google Assistant a question, the Home device being addressed will check to see if that person is one of its recognized conversation partners.
