LG Watch R and Watch Urbane now getting Android Wear 2.0

LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition to receive Android Wear 2.0 in May

It's been ready since the first week of April so if you own any of the LG smartwatch, expect to receive the OTA update anytime soon. There are three different watch faces available and a 22mm band can be swapped out, according to CNET. When the watch launches on April 21, you can buy it at T-Mobile for $199. Well, according to Lixin Cheng, chairman and CEO of ZTE USA, it's to expand the company's reach into another market where they can provide a high-quality device at a low cost, similar to how they sell their smartphones.

The ZTE Quartz comes with a circular 1.4-inch AMOLED display along with Gorilla Glass 3. The lack of features like NFC and a heart rate monitor is kind of a bummer, but that's the trade-off that ZTE made to get the Quartz's price down.

Flexibility: The smartwatch can be used as a companion to your smartphone or as a standalone wearable device with the ability to make calls right from your wrist.

Meanwhile, LG says that owners of the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will have to wait a bit longer, as the Android Wear 2.0 update for that smartwatch is not scheduled to begin rolling out until sometime in the beginning of May. Though the model is now listed only as 'coming soon, ' the T-Mobile product page does reveal the watch's various features. Operating since 1998, ZTE USA is dedicated to making cost-efficient, quality communication technology accessible to all.

Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear is a product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
