Lorde Performs Tracks From Her Upcoming Album During Surprise Concert

Saturday Night Live- Season 42

"This next song that I'm about to play you is brand new".

Other singles from the album she's debuted include Green Light, Liability and a new song called Sober, she sang during a sold-out small scale show in California on Sunday.

Watch footage of Lorde's Coachella set and "Homemade Dynamite" below.

Her album so far appears to be about break ups, "teenage cringe" and general self-induced havoc.

"I thought about all the ups and downs of being a twentysomething, specifically all the ups and downs of an evening. And then half an hour later you can be in the bathroom like oh my god I look like a crime scene".

She said her new track, Homemade Dynamite, was all about the good times. "Let's get raucous before Coachella on Sunday night".

The song shows off Lorde's throaty vocal stylings over a minimalist drum beat and modest synths, as she describes the rush and thrill of partying, followed with a dramatic question: "What will we do when we're sober?".

The performance marked Lorde's first live set since 2014. Check out Lorde's performance of the new track below, and if you're anything like us, its making you even more excited for the record to drop in June. Her setlist also included a number of familiar favorites, such as "Royals", "Tennis Court", "Team" and her Disclosure collaboration "Magnets".
