Michael Keaton could reunite with Tim Burton on Dumbo

The Disney film could reunite the 'Beetlejuice' and 'Batman' star and director

Should Keaton sign the deal, it will see him reunite with director Tim Burton for the first time since they worked together on 1992's "Batman Returns" and there's also talk of a "Beetlejuice" sequel.

Although it still doesn't have a confirmed release date, Disney is fast putting together the cast for it's planned, live-action take on Dumbo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Keaton is now in talks to star in Disney's upcoming live-action adaptation of DUMBO. The part of the Ringmaster was previously rumored to be going to Tom Hanks, who reportedly turned it down due to scheduling conflicts. The movie will join Disney's enormously successful string of live-action adaptations of its animation jewels, which includes The Jungle Book, Cinderella and the current megahit, Beauty and the Beast. DeVito's small circus is the outfit home to Dumbo the elephant and his mother, while Eva Green will play a French trapeze artist.

The screenplay will be penned by Ehren Kruger who worked on Tron: Legacy.

The original Dumbo followed the titular elephant who gets ostracized due to his big ears and becomes an outcast after a circus stunt goes wrong. Colin Farrell is also in talks to join the film. He's recently starred in The Founder and will be seen next in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Keaton rose to fame almost 30 years ago while he acted in Burton's 1988 classic comic horror movie Beetlejuice. Among the other remakes being lined up include "The Lion King", "Mulan" and "The Little Mermaid".
