Trump administration says Iran complying with nuclear deal
After the International Atomic Energy Agency verified in January of 2016 that Iran was in compliance with terms to scale back its nuclear programme, some international sanctions were lifted.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson raised the concerns in a letter sent to Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) Tuesday, alerting Congress to an effort led by President Donald Trump to evaluate whether the continued lifting of sanctions on Iran would be in America's national security interests.

The development of the USA reviewing the sanctions relief for Iran comes as Washingtonsaid Iran remains a "leading sponsor" of terrorism.
Iran and six world powers - Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the U.S. - reached an agreement on the country's nuclear issue in July 2015 that put Iran on the path of sanctions relief but with more strict limits on nuclear programme.
Tillerson said Iran has complied with the agreement's terms through Tuesday, the day he released the letter. When the interagency review is completed, the administration looks forward to working with Congress on this issue.
Last month, Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about the Iran nuclear deal in a phone call.
Iran has yet to comment on the Trump administration's review, but Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei warned in November that Tehran would retaliate if the United States breached the nuclear agreement.
At the time, officials stressed that a violation of the UN Security Council resolution on Iranian ballistic missile activity would not impact the Iran nuclear deal.
The European Union's foreign policy chief, Frederica Mogherini, said last month after meetings with senior Trump administration officials she was reassured in the talks that the U.S. was committed to fully implementing the deal.
The United States has long accused Iran of being the world's biggest state sponsor of terrorism, saying Tehran supported conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, and backed groups such as Shia jihadist Hezbollah, its Lebanon-based proxy.
It said two were in intensive care, four were seriously injured but the one child was not seriously hurt. The statement said the two leaders agreed on the importance of working together to tackle these threats.
