Browns sign Texas A&M's Myles Garrett, 1st overall pick

Myles Garrett signs 4-year, $30.4 million contract

Garrett, a defensive end from Texas A&M, signed for a fully guaranteed $30.4 million.

The Browns now have six of their draft picks under contract: third-round defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi, fourth-round defensive Howard Wilson, fifth-round offensive lineman Rod Johnson, seventh-round kick Zane Gonzalez and seventh-round running back Matthew Dayes. But because Brown and Garrett play the same position and were drafted first overall by the same team, Brown will shadow Garrett like the Grim Reaper until Garrett proves he is worthy of the Browns' confidence. The Browns posted a video on Twitter of the former Texas A&M All-American filling out the contract's paperwork while Seal's "Kiss From A Rose" played in the background.

First-round selections Jabrill Peppers and David Njoku, and second-round pick DeShone Kizer, remain the only players not under contract from the 2017 draft class. The guy has flashed and shown exactly why he was drafted where he was drafted. "But also you see that fire that's burning inside him to be great and I think those are the hallmarks of guys that have a chance to be really excellent football players". You're trying to go out there and win games just like they are. "My expectations are definitely higher than what most others have for me".

Brantley started 22 of the 38 games he appeared in at Florida where he totaled 81 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. The Cleveland Browns won't have to worry about number one overall pick Myles Garrett holding out of training camp.
