Environment minister Anil Madhav Dave passes away at 60

Dave, the minister of state (independent charge) for environment, forest and climate change, was rushed to AIIMS here after he complained of uneasiness. It is like I have lost a part of my student life", recalled Madhya Pradesh Congress chief spokesman KK Mishra."Anil Dave was studying in Gujarati Commerce College while I studied at the Christian College in Indore.

Dave who was appointed environment minister only a year ago.

Dave was born on 6 July 1956 in Badnagar, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. The news was confirmed in a tweet by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 60-year-old environment minister and two-time Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh, Dave also used to organise the worldwide river festival at Bandrabhan to create awareness among people about conserving rivers.

BJP president Amit Shah said Dave's contribution to Indian politics and environment conservation was incredible. The demise he said, is a personal loss. As per the sources, he had not been healthy for the previous few months.

Shah also recollected the important role Dave played in conservation of the Narmada River. He has also served as the BJP state Vice President for Madhya Pradesh. "My condolences", Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.

She also conveyed her condolences to members of Dave's family, admirers and supporters.

The Minister said he had met the late Dave thrice to discuss the jallikattu issue earlier and that the latter had extended his "unflinching support" for the conduct of the bull-taming sport in Tamil Nadu. Mr. Anil was 60 years old. "I offer my heartfelt condolences to the members of Anil Dave's family", Singh said.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said: "It is shocking and unbelievable that one of our most smiling, charming and youngest at heart colleague, Anil Madhav Daveji is no more with us".
