Gisele Bündchen's revelation about Tom Brady's concussions prompts a conspiracy theory

"He has concussions pretty much every - I mean, we don't talk about it".

Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots celebrates with wife Gisele Bundchen and daughter Vivian Brady after defeating the Atlanta Falcons during Super Bowl 51 at NRG Stadium on February 5, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

Bundchen said in an interview on "CBS This Morning" with Charlie Rose that the New England Patriots quarterback was concussed previous year and had suffered other head traumas but did not elaborate on when they occurred.

In a Wednesday interview with This Morning on CBS, Bündchen said Brady has a history of concussions - and even had an unreported head injury previous year. She shared: "As you know, it's not the most, like, let's say, un-aggressive sport, right?" Even if it's not considered serious enough to keep Brady out of a game, he still needs to be listed as questionable with a head injury of some kind, so expect this to lead some potential fine or admonition from the NFL to the Patriots to comply with league policy. At 39 years old, Brady has said he has no plans to retire. "I think there's been more awareness from the general media on what CTE is, how it affects you, the long-term ramifications of it".

Brees agreed that the idea of self-reporting concussions is a "gray area", because players don't always know when they suffered a concussion and because they might be too competitive to take themselves out of a game.

The NFL said it had been in contact with the NFL Players Association "and will work together to gather more information from the club's medical staff and Mr. Brady".

So how are they taking Gisele's concussion comments in some parts of New England?

The league is especially - though belatedly - sensitive to concussions, which have been linked to a brain disease that leaves former players forgetful, violent or suicidal. She did not specify when Brady suffered a concussion or whether it was medically diagnosed and was not asked a follow-up question.

During his celebrated 17-year career, Brady has never been officially sidelined by a concussion. I think, as an athlete, you have to take all those things into consideration.

Do you feel that Brady's wife has opened up a new can of worms for the National Football League and the Patriots? You know, that kind of aggression all the time, that can not be healthy for you.

Bundchen's comments garnered a firestorm of reaction on Twitter, and come two days after Brady said in an interview with ESPN that he hopes to continue playing football into his "mid-40s". I don't really think it's a healthy thing for your body to go through, through that kind of aggression, like, all the time.
