Mets suspend Harvey for violating team rules; Wilk to start

The New York Mets can't get out of their own way these days.

Starting in Harvey's place will be Adam Wilk, who was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Harvey was penalized three days without pay for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

Two innings later, Wilk again went down and in to Stanton - this time with a curveball - and Stanton again went deep to left, this time faster and farther off the windows of the restaurant in left. "Just saw a little bit of film and some tendencies, but that's really about it".

Stanton is up to 20 homers at Citi Field, the most of any visiting player at the ballpark, and has six multi-homer games there. In his first big league game since 2015, the lefty was hit hard, giving up six runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings.

"I thought it was worse than it is", he said Monday. "He wants to do it in a group, which is the easiest, I always think".

"We are going to keep it in house, the way it's supposed to be", New York Mets manager Terry Collins said, as quoted by The Guardian.

Stanton's upper deck three-run shot measured at 425 feet (via ESPN Stats and Info), and in the top of the third inning off Wilk he offered a more than worthy encore.

"The atmosphere's always fun", he said. Miami Marlins manager Don Mattingly, on the other hand, will take any kind of win he and his struggling team can get.

Relievers David Phelps, Nick Wittgren and A.J. Ramos completed the first shutout against the Mets this season.

"It was one of those games", manager Don Mattingly said. Mets sources claimed the team was simply checking on the pitcher after messages had gone unreturned, while those close to Harvey say he saw it as the team trying to see if he was actually at home and truly ill.

Urena (1-0) stranded two runners in the sixth, following which he was lifted after throwing 63 pitches.

Mets center fielder Curtis Granderson ran in for a sliding catch on Adeiny Hechavarria in the eighth, then sprinted a long distance for a backhand grab of Realmuto's drive to the warning track.

Monday's matchup with San Francisco will be the first game against a team outside the NL East for the Mets this season. Miguel Rojas, who started at third base, came out in the third inning with a sore right thumb. "Same hamstring, different spot", Mattingly said.
