Nintendo Direct Focused on Arms Scheduled For Tomorrow

The Arms Nintendo Direct revealed a lot of information about the fighting game ahead of its June release date including two new fighters and a ton of multiplayer modes and other great tidbits.

Finally, as briefly shown and touched upon in a previous Nintendo Direct, currency that you earn in battles can be spent in the target range-styled Arms Getter, allowing you to unlock new arms and even upgrade already-acquired ones likewise.

You'll be able to play-test ARMS starting May 26th at 5:00pm PST, May 27th at 5:00am PST, 11:00am PST, or 5:00pm PST.

First are the new characters Twintelle, Kid Cobra and Byte and Barq. Or is it 3v2, given that Byte and Barq appear to be a puppet-based fighter? For players who enjoy sports but do not want to go through the trouble of using a ball, then the Hoops mode is for you. Here's a rundown of all of the upcoming modes.

Grand Prix - Win 10 straight matches in Grand Prix and players will face a final opponent to be crowned the ARMS champion. Additionally, a new Switch Pro controller, featuring green and pink grips, has been announced for Japan.

Fight - In this main multiplayer* mode, two fighters battle against each other one-on-one to claim victory. There will be 1 on 1 ranked online and fun matches for up to four players each in a lobby that can hold up to 20 players.

If you want a break from fighting, there will also have a Volleyball mode that will have fighters try to knock an explosive volleyball across the net.

That apart, the game will also be supported with free DLC post launch.

The video also revealed that each of the characters will also have three special customizable arms that they can equip. Overall, not a bad showcase from Nintendo, with the Global Testpunch being an awesome way to see how current Switch owners enjoy it. Check out our detailed post of all the new fighters here.
