Shadow of War trailer tours a more colourful Middle-Earth

We're still a few months away from the launch of Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, but there's a new trailer today to keep your interest.

Warner Bros has released a new gameplay trailer for Middle Earth: Shadow of War that focuses on its open-world environments.

Players will be able to explore new locations past Mordor for the very first time and what's more, they'll experience a world unique to them due to the revamped nemesis system. The timeline of Shadow of War unfolds between the pivotal events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, with the ambitious role-playing game's impressive scope spanning Tolkien territories from Seregost to Gorgoroth. It'll supposedly include more worlds to explore and an expanded Nemesis system, although all I'm really crossing my fingers for is a lot less brown than Mordor's opening levels.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be available for Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 on August 22, 2017.

Shadow of Mordor took place exclusively within the lands of Mordor.

Fingers crossed Shadow of War surpasses the original, like most sequels tend to do.

The sequence towards the end of the open world trailer confirms that if you pre-order the game you'll get a bonus of four legendary orc champions and the Sword of Dominion to play with.
