Spicer Pressed on Clapper's New Comments on Trump-Russia Collusion

James Comey

Trump confidants say Mr Bannon has been marginalised on major decisions, including Mr Comey's firing, after clashing with Jared Kushner.

"Now I do not know fully what was in the president's mind but I do know this: that this Senate Intelligence Committee is going to pursue this investigation to whatever the intel and facts", the Democrat senator said.

When asked, "Internally, from the president?" Schiller was among those Trump consulted about Comey and was tapped by the president to deliver a letter informing the director of his firing.

Trump says "even that is possible".

Press coverage had caused Trump to try to recast the Comey firing, but as he undoubtedly knows now, he was too candid, he claimed he did it with the intent to obstruct the Russian Federation investigation.

An illuminating clip from "Morning Joe" will be sure to send shockwaves around the White House today.

Trump fired Comey earlier this week amidst an FBI investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. "The president is the CEO of the country". He said he would have found a reason to fire Comey regardless of Rosenstein's recommendation.

Trump tweeted, "James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!"

White-collar defense attorney Alice Fisher interviewed with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his deputy, Rod Rosenstein. CNN counted 11 Democrats in Congress who have raised the question-10 House members and Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal. These four candidates are not the only people under consideration for the position. John Cornyn, R-Texas speaks on Capitol Hill in Washington. Republicans hold a 52-seat majority in the Senate.

"It's now time to pick somebody who comes from within the ranks, or is of such a reputation who has no political background at all who can go into the job from Day 1", the South Carolina Republican said. Trump would not directly answer questions about whether Spicer, who was out two days because of Naval Reserve duty, would remain in his job.

"The president actions and his statement lends to that appearance", Sen.

"And also said, it was very interesting, also said that, 'This is just like my summer in Europe'".

But if reports are to be believed, Spicer's never been closer to getting the boot.

"I'm not saying it any way", Trump said.

"My hope is Senate committees will obtain those tapes if they exist, by subpoena or otherwise", Blumenthal told reporters at a press conference in Hartford Friday.

Trump, who is scheduled to leave Friday on his first overseas trip as president, told reporters Saturday that it was possible he could announce his selection before then.

Trump has said he removed Comey because he was not doing a good job and that Comey lost the support of Federal Bureau of Investigation employees.

So far 14 people have emerged as candidates.

Fisher previously served as assistant attorney general in charge of the Justice Department's criminal division, also under Bush.

Two new names, however, emerged on Saturday: FBI special agent Adam Lee and U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson.

Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe testified in front of the committee on Thursday.

Saturday's list includes Michael J. Garcia, an associate judge on New York's highest court, and GOP Sen.
