Why you shouldn't buy a new MacBook right now

The Cupertino company has reportedly sold a whopping 4.2 million Macs in the March quarter, up 4% from the 4 million it sold in the a year ago quarter. According to Digitimes, the mass production of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro has actually started in March or April, and the volume achieved is now at around 500,000 units a month. Apple's shipment volume in July will increase by 100,000 units to 600,000. The rest of the shipments would clearly consist of the company's 12.9-inch iPad Pro (which I'd suspect are substantially lower than 9.7-inch/10.5-inch iPad shipments) as well as the mainstream 9.7-inch iPad models (likely the bulk of Apple's shipments). The company was previously rumored to launch a 10.5-inch iPad Pro 2 at its March event, which didn't materialize. There is also some speculation around the Internet whether Apple might decide to eliminate the 9.7-inch iPad Pro and replace it with the 10.5-inch option or keep all three models. On the other hand, the iPad Pro is much better than the iPad Mini.

Earlier reports suggest Apple has been facing technological challenges implementing the fingerprint sensor below the front display. Recently, 9to5Mac had spotted a listing for "iPad 10.5" in an accessories maker's inventory display. The iPhone 8 is expected to be announced in September.

The report notes that Apple's newly launched 9.7-inch iPad is becoming more popular with buyers with demand expected to pick up strongly towards the end of the second quarter.

It's unknown what other features the 10.5-inch iPad Pro might offer, if it even exists at all. Stable shipments will begin in the third quarter, added the publication. Despite the launch of new tablets, experts say the iPad sales would decline this year compared to 2016.

Apple's goal with the iPad Pro seems to be to try to enrich its iPad product mix.

Although iPhones are the biggest generator to Apple's annual sales, the company has been said to strengthen its Mac line-up to offset the rivalry with Microsoft.

The news of stopping the Apple iPad Mini lineup is in the air, but there is not official notification or confirmation yet.
