Xiaomi's Redmi 4 To Be Launched Today Amid Sky-High Expectations

The company would be expecting a lot from this phone as its predecessor was sold like hot cakes.

Redmi 4 comes with a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) display with a pixel density of 296 PPi. There is a 2.5D screen on top of the display. It is powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 435 Octa-core processor and an Adreno 505 GPU. The company has launched three variants of the smartphone - 2GB RAM/16GB storage (Rs 6,999), 3GB RAM/32GB storage (Rs 8,999) and 4GB RAM/64GB storage (Rs 10,999). There is a 13 MP camera on the rear and a 5 MP camera on the front. Redmi 4 has a 4100mAh (typ) battery that Xiaomi claims can power through up to two days of regular usage. As per the Chinese giant, the device can offer up to 36 hours of talktime and up to 430 hours on standby mode. Connectivity option on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Dual-SIM support and Bluetooth v4.2 connectivity.

The dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. For those wanting a bit more oomph-factor from the phone can opt for the mid-range version with a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

Now, Redmi 4 comes in a matte black variant, similar to the Redmi Note 4, and there's a gold colour variant as well.

In the camera department, we see a resolution drop to 13MP (from 16MP) for the main camera, while the selfie camera is still a 5MP sensor.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 comes in 3 variants - 2GBRAM with 16 GB internal memory along with 3GB/32 GB and 4GB/64 GB version. In fact, you can prebook it today for an amount of Rs 1000 and get it picked from the Mi home store.

So, with such features and specification this smartphone is sure to give some tough competition to other budget smartphones from different brands.

Mi Router 3C will also make its debut in India on 20 May at Mi Home and will be available for purchase on Mi.com on 23 May 2017 and on Flipkart.com and Amazon.in starting 8 June 2017 at INR 1,199/-. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is expected to be launched, and we already know that Amazon India will be the exclusive retail partner for the smartphone.
