Young Boy Found Dead Inside Mother's Stolen Car

A 2014 Honda Civic is being sought by police

A kidnapping investigation ended Thursday morning tragically.

Frazier's family also begged for his safe return before the boy was found dead.

Eighteen-year-old Dwan Wakefield was taken into custody in connection to the crime, according to media outlets in Jackson.

Kingston's mother, Ebony Archie, left the auto running with her son sleeping inside, while she went grocery shopping, the Hinds County Sheriff's Department said.

Paying tribute to Kingston, his uncle, David Archie said: "Kingston was all outgoing".

The Jackson Police Department, Hinds County Sheriff's Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation had been looking for Kingston, of Jackson, until about 9:45 a.m., when the alert was canceled.

Hours of frantic searching for a six-year-old boy who went missing Thursday after thieves stole his mother's auto ended in tragedy when authorities found him shot dead inside the vehicle. Two men in a Honda pulled up and the passenger stole the Camry with Kingston inside.

Reportedly, the little boy's mother, Ebony Archie, had left him inside her running Toyota Camry at about 2:00 a.m. while she ran inside the local Kroger to pick up a few items.

At this point, no official charges have been filed in the case of kidnapped and murdered MS 6-year-old Kingston Frazier, although charges and more details in the tragic case are expected in the immediate future. "There is nothing out there worth taking a 6-year-old's life".

"A six-year-old is gone, " said Kingston's cousin, Kolby Irby. "The bereaved family is in our prayers as we continue to seek justice for Kingston". The license plate is #HYX 783.

Frazier was last seen wearing a white tank top, khaki shorts and gold Jordan tennis shoes.

When the mother came back, the auto and Kingston were gone. Both vehicles sped away. It is important that we express and assure, that as a City, there is no tolerance on any level for acts of violence against children. "We're going to ask the public, anyone with any information, to call us", Jones said.

"We're just asking, regardless of who you are, what you are and where you are, if you could just return the child. You could have left him at Kroger".

"This is a 6 year old innocent child and, at the end of the day, regardless of how and what took place, that is the only thing that we're concerned about at the moment".
