'100 per cent' willing to testify over Comey conversations: Donald Trump

President Donald Trump speaks during a news conference with Romanian President Klaus Werner Iohannis in the Rose Garden at the White House Friday

"No collusion, no obstruction, he's a leaker, but we want to get back to running our great country", Trump said.

President Trump, however, refused to say whether his private conversations with Comey were taped. Kasowitz is expected to file a complaint with the Justice Department inspector general next week, according to a person close to the legal team who agreed to speak before the filing on condition that the person's name is not used.

A Republican member of the Senate Intelligence committee says Congress should obtain any tapes that President Donald Trump might have of his conversations with the man he fired as Federal Bureau of Investigation director - James Comey.

Mr Trump insisted that Mr Comey lied in some parts of the testimony he gave on Thursday to the Senate intelligence committee.

Comey admitted that, after his firing by Trump on May 9, he asked a friend to leak the documentation of the contents of the Trump meetings to the press in the hope of prompting the appointment of a special prosecutor. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the committee, both said Thursday they believed Comey's account of the events.

As for Trump's tweet attack on Comey, Pelosi said no one at the White House appears to be "brave enough" to tell the president that his tweets are "beneath the dignity of the office you serve".

President Donald Trump is asserting that fired FBI Director James Comey's testimony to Congress represents "total and complete vindication".

A senior Russian lawmaker has dismissed the testimony of former FBI Director James Comey as insignificant.

Trump hinted that tapes of his conversations might exist in the days following his dismissal of Comey.

President Donald Trump will take questions from reporters a day after former FBI Director James Comey accused him of lying in stunning testimony.

"One hundred per cent.I would be glad to tell him (special counsel Robert Mueller) exactly what I told you", Trump said at a joint news press conference in the Rose Garden of the White House with the visiting Romanian President.

Trump abruptly fired Comey as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation on May 9, admitting later that the Russian Federation probe was on his mind at the time. Comey also bluntly accused the White House of spreading "lies, plain and simple".

Trump's aides have dodged questions about whether conversations relevant to the Russian Federation investigation have been recorded, and so did the president, in series of teases.

Comey has accused Trump of firing him to derail an investigation into Russian interference in USA elections and then lying about the motives for the move. His gripping account of interactions with Trump underscored the discord that soured their relationship. Comey said that Trump asked him specifically whether he could drop the investigation with respect to Flynn, the former national security adviser whom Trump fired for withholding information about his contacts with foreign governments.
