Accused NSA leaker Reality Winner to plead not guilty

Reality Winner, 25, Charged with Leaking Russian Hacking Secrets to News Media

She is accused of revealing classified information, used as the basis for an article published Monday by The Intercept, which detailed a classified National Security Agency memo.

According to court documents, a federal grand jury indicted 25-year-old Reality Winner on a single count - "willful retention and transmission of national defense information".

Reality Winner was taken into custody in Augusta last weekend by federal marshals and charged with mailing classified information to a news organization - the online news organization, The Intercept. Victor is being temporarily housed in the Lincoln County jail in Augusta, Georgia.

Solari argued that victor isn't the upstanding young woman her parents believe her to be.

The document said Russian military intelligence "executed cyber espionage operations against a named USA company in August 2016 evidently to obtain information on elections-related software and hardware solutions, according to information that became available in April 2017". They say they were able to narrow down the source using the unique "microdots" in the printout, which identify the source printer, as well as the fact that victor had been in email contact with a news outlet, presumed to be The Intercept.

Winner's mother told NBC News on Tuesday that victor "would not jeopardize anybody's safety" and was "terrified" when she returned to her home in Augusta on Saturday to find federal agents waiting for her.

Victor was booked Saturday at around 8 p.m., according to her arrest report, but the Justice Department didn't announce that she had been taken into custody until Monday - barely an hour after The Intercept published its report.

Following her arrest on Saturday, it is being speculated that victor could be charged with leaking sensitive information and could face up to 10 years in prison.

"She's never ever given me any kind of indication that she was in favor of that at all", Winner-Davis said. "She's got a great big heart", Davis said. However, it shows no evidence that the Russian cyberattacks directly altered any votes.

On Nov. 2, 2005 - just five days later - The Washington Post used leaked information from unnamed USA officials to report that "the Central Intelligence Agency has been hiding and interrogating some of its most important al-Qaida captives at a Soviet-era compound in Eastern Europe" and that "the secret facility is part of a covert prison system set up by the Central Intelligence Agency almost four years ago that at various times has included sites in eight countries". She's just a passionate young woman who probably made some mistakes.

According to CNN, attorney Titus Nichols said a detention hearing will take place on Thursday, where the judge will determine whether to release victor on bond. Victor was a high school tennis star and an animal lover who had used social media in ordinary ways, documenting her exercise habits, musical tastes, news that caught her eye - and her increasing agitation at President Donald Trump's actions. "She's just a normal person", said her court-appointed attorney, Titus Nichols.

"She was afraid she was going to disappear, that they were going to make her disappear".

CNN also reports victor is a contractor with Pluribus International Corporation, authorities said. "I don't know what she did when she went to work". "Sorry", Davis said, crying. If that didn't feel good to say aloud, contact your senators today and tell them those exact words as to why the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines can not be built on American soil. Much is unknown, as the public is made to depend upon the potentially unreliable claims of government prosecutors, while victor is held in jail without any contact with the public. "She's a patriot", Davis said.

"My client has no (criminal) history, so it's not as if she has a pattern of having done anything like this before", Nichols said in a phone interview Monday.
