Arnold Schwarzenegger Slams Donald Trump For Withdrawing From The Paris Agreement

The goal of the Paris Accord is to reduce the impact of climate change.

India is committed to the Paris Climate Agreement irrespective of what other nations decide, said the Centre said today, hours after President Donald Trump announced that the United States will pull out of the Paris Climate Accord.

Germany's DIHK Chambers of Commerce and the VDMA engineering industry group warned that U.S. companies could gain short-term advantages by Mr Trump's decision.

But Merkel, whose country hosts this year's global climate summit, said it was now time to look ahead. As Business Insider's Dana Varinsky previously reported, some experts believe it's possible that cities alone can ensure the U.S. meets climate goals.

"We support President Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris agreement", he said.

A long-scheduled meeting on Friday between Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and top European Union officials in Brussels was dominated by Trump's decision.

Global leaders reacted with disappointment, even anger.

Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank joined Nike in saying that his company was also "disappointed by the Administration's decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement as climate change continues to threaten our planet, our cities and our economies", according to a statement posted on Twitter by CNBC anchor Sara Eisen.

Led by Germany's Angela Merkel and France's Emmanuel Macron, they branded Trump's decision as misguided and vowed to defend an accord they portrayed as crucial for the future of the planet.

In the footage, his speech is slurred as he states his name, along with his height, weight, hair and eye color for the officers. Woods was found asleep at the wheel of his auto in the early hours of Monday morning, near his home on Jupiter Island, Florida.

She called Trump's Rose Garden announcement "deeply disappointing", but suggested the president is costing the US a golden opportunity to profit from the inevitable growth of clean-tech initiatives around the globe.

Former president Barack Obama expressed regret over the pullout and said, "But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I'm confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we've got".

Poor countries are predicted to be among the hardest hit by global warming, with some predicting tens of millions of "climate refugees" in coming decades.

In an oblique reference to pleas from European leaders at the G-7 summit in Sicily recently that the US must stay on in the treaty, the President said: "Foreign leaders in Europe, Asia, and across the world should not have more to say with respect to the USA economy than our own citizens and their elected representatives".

Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas told The Associated Press that the Paris accord "was, and still is a very important goal to achieve".

A top atmospheric scientist at the U.N.'s weather agency said Friday that the "worst-case scenario" caused by the planned USA pullout from the Paris climate deal would be a further 0.3-degree Celsius (0.5 Fahrenheit) rise in global temperatures by 2100.

It also could have come out of any one of Trump's stump speeches on the 2016 campaign trail - although likely not in the context of climate change.

The aim is to limit global temperature rise to 2C above pre-industrial levels by 2100. Jamey Keaten in Geneva and Raf Casert in Tallinn, Estonia, contributed.
