CBO Set to Release Analysis of Senate Healthcare Bill Monday

"I would like to delay", said US Senator Ron Johnson, one of the five senators opposing the bill.

Republicans actually need 51 votes to pass the legislation, but one of them can be Vice President Mike Pence's tie-breaking vote.

Trump said he thought Republicans in the US Senate were doing enough to push through the bill and criticised Democrats for their opposition.

"I can not support a piece of legislation that takes insurance away from tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Nevadans", Heller said.

Critics have pointed to how the BCRA would affect the health and security of millions of Americans, particularly poor Americans who rely on Medicaid for their health coverage.

He told ABC's "This Week" the GOP has "at best, a 50-50 chance".

ROVNER: Well, of course, there's only 52 Republicans in the Senate.

Collins said she is also concerned about a provision to block federal funding for Planned Parenthood. Rob Portman of OH said it doesn't provide enough funds for the opioid epidemic.

Another senator who has announced that he does not support the current version of the bill, Rand Paul of Kentucky, said he would back it if the Senate reached an impasse on healthcare.

"He used my term, 'mean, '" Trump said. Look forward to making it really special!

But the bill's supporters were battling a dire internal threat: reluctant Republicans.

"I don't think the bill's adequate now", the former presidential candidate stated.

"What we can do is if they cannot get 50 votes, if they get to impasse, I've been telling leadership for months now I'll vote for a repeal".

At least two GOP senators said Sunday that goal may prove too ambitious. Lance did not vote for the House bill.

The Senate and House bills both called for cuts of more than $800 billion to Medicaid, along with tax cuts for wealthy citizens who were expected to pay for supporting Obamacare.

Over time, the extra help for states and the exchanges would phase out, and cuts to Medicaid and to insurance protections would phase in.

The Affordable Care Act, which passed with support from only Democrats in 2010, increased access to Medicaid benefits by changing the eligibility threshold and providing more federal taxpayer dollars to cover new enrollees.

'And this has nothing to do with votes, forget about the votes, this has to do with picking a plan that everybody is going to like, I'd like to say love, but like.

For older people in that income slice, the spike in premiums would be enormous, especially in higher-cost states like Alaska.

In June, 51 percent of people viewed the law favorably, compared to 43 percent in November 2016, according to a monthly poll conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

On the flip side, many younger Americans could see their premiums drop, and they could get heftier subsidies.

"We have a very good plan", Trump said on Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" Sunday.

"Threading that needle is going to be very, extremely hard", she said.

Paul said he would only vote for the bill if it substantially repealed the ACA, which it does not do as it now stands.

That's not sitting well with GOP Sen.

Stating that the "total number of dollars that are going to be dedicated to Medicaid are not enough", Kasich added that the bill "creates more instability and more confusion".

Collins said she disagreed with Conway's assertions about Medicaid cuts.
