Champions Trophy final: India lose to Pakistan by 180 runs

In reply, India were all out for 158.

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed took the last catch and aeroplaned around the pitch with his arms out before he was swamped by teammates.

Pakistan, entering the tournament ranked eighth out of the eight teams in the tournament, stunned arch-rivals India on Sunday to win the 2017 International Cricket Council Champions Trophy final by 180 runs at Kia Oval in London, England.

With the bat in hand, India found themselves under early pressure after losing both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for just 6 runs.

This made it hard to counter his approach during the Champions Trophy final, at The Oval, in London, on Sunday.

"Amir bowled brilliantly today but all my bowlers bowled really well".

A back spasm kept Amir out as Pakistan defeated hosts England on Wednesday but Arthur is now pinning his hopes on a full-strength attack to contain India's batsmen better than most other sides have managed so far.

But the Pakistanis wrote off that defeat as an aberration.

Fakhar hit 12 fours and three sixes before skying a catch off Hardik Pandya but Pakistan, who upset hosts England in the semifinals, had the flawless platform to make the highest total in a Champions Trophy final. Only once in Trophy history has a team batting first won the final; India in 2013.

"It will be a good match because even Pakistan is in good form".

Continuing his graciousness, Kohli refused to find fault with his bowlers, who gave away too many runs and admitted that Pakistan were deserving winners.

It was built on a tremendous stand for the opening wicket - with India's first breakthrough not until the 23rd over when Pakistan had already amassed 128 runs.

Pakistan's margin of victory is their biggest by runs in 129 ODIs against India. The left-hander scored 54 runs off 32 balls, the fastest half-century in a world One Day International (ODI) final.

The sixth century in a Trophy final ended in the 34th over with Pakistan at 200-2.

Later in the innings, Hardik Pandya, who put some resistance with a quick-fire 76 off 43 balls, was run out in the 27th over, thus, bringing an end to a famed Indian batting line-up. "We thought that if we could get among the Indian top order early, we could probably expose the middle order that hadn't batted a fair amount".

Pakistan: 338/4 in 50 overs (Azhar 59, Zaman 114, Babar 46, Malik 12, Hafeez 57, Wasim 25; Bhvneshwar 1/44, Bumrah 0/68, Ashwin 0/70, Pandya 1/53, Jadeja 0/67, Jadhav 1/27).
