DUP says "right & proper" to back May's Queen Speech

A huge fire started at the 24-floor Grenfell tower high-rise block in North Kensington on Wednesday, engulfing the entire building and trapping nearly 120 families inside.

With the exception of one independent MP, the province has now only elected MPs from the more hardline parties, namely 10 from the Democratic Unionist Party (which are supporting the Conservative minority government) and seven from Sinn Fein. That point has been further stressed by both sides in the wake of June's terror attack in London. She has held meetings with key Northern Ireland leaders, including the DUP.

Mr Frazer added that he came to Dundalk to let Sinn Féin know that "we haven't gone away and have no intention of going away". She also said that the talks with May's party had covered corporation tax and same sex marriage.

"We have just finished a meeting with the British Prime Minister and her Secretary of State, and we told her very directly that she was in breach of the Good Friday agreement", said Mr Adams after the meeting. They also talked about the political discussions in London and Belfast, agreeing on the need to have the Northern Ireland Executive up and running as quickly as possible, and they discussed Brexit.

Mrs May last night attempted to stabilise her new Government - still less than a fortnight old - by announcing there would be no Queen's Speech in 2018.

"We made the case to her that we would oppose any deal that undermined the Good Friday Agreement", he said. Talks between the two are ongoing but the opening of the new Parliament is set for Wednesday.

But Jeremy Corbyn, leader of Britain's main opposition, said his Labour Party would not support May's Queen's Speech in the lower house of parliament to try to force her out of power through a vote of no confidence.

Brexit talks to be delayed?

"We don't believe that any deal between the DUP here and the English Tories will be good for the people here", Mr Adams said.

"It takes two to tango and we're ready to dance", she said.

The other 27 countries who make up the European Union have always said no to that and that the past needs to be sorted out before the future. Brussels meanwhile, says it wants to the ECJ to guarantee the well-treatment of European Union citizens in the United Kingdom beyond Brexit.

"And if that wasn't enough, calling an unnecessary general election purely for the self interest of the Conservative Party and having mucked that campaign up they are now putting the country in hock to the DUP".
