Harrowing footage from the inside of Grenfell Tower has been released

The shadow Brexit Secretary, who is also the former Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), revealed prosecutors were now part of the investigation.

Police said Saturday that their investigation would look at the building and its 2016 refurbishment, and vowed to bring prosecutions "if there is evidence".

"I appreciate that the authorities want to be absolutely certain that any information is correct before it is issued publicly, and the fire brigade, police and coroner are doing a heroic job obtaining this information in extremely hard circumstances", Sadiq Khan said. So the criminal investigation really has to come first. One is, are our regulations correct?

"It has been decided today that the public inquiry will report back to me personally".

He added that all political parties "need to ask serious questions about why recommendations in the past have not been implemented".

The highly flammable siding on London's burned-out Grenfell Tower should never have been there in the first place - because it's illegal on United Kingdom high-rises, a British pol revealed Sunday.

Theresa May admitted last night that the official response to the Grenfell Tower catastrophe "was not good enough".

Engineering experts and fire safety specialists believe the building's exterior cladding may have quickly fueled the blaze, overwhelming fire protection devices. Hands cautioned that officials don't yet have exact details about the renovation that ended just past year.

Harman, a two-time PGA Tour victor from Georgia, said, "I was pretty nervous this morning and I got off to a little shaky start". Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland reacts after finishing on the ninth green during the second round of the 2017 US Open .

Ronnie King, the UK's former chief fire officer, told Al Jazeera: "I wouldn't wish to denigrate those who installed the cladding because - whatever the cladding was - it did not have to be fire resistant under the building regulations", said King.

"As we do everything we can to help them, we will make sure they have the counselling and emotional support they need in the hard days, weeks and years ahead".

John McDonnell, the shadow chancellor, criticized the Government's response and a Labour MP, David Lammy, raised fears of a cover-up as he urged the Prime Minister and Metropolitan Police to immediately seize all relevant documents.

This included the 30 already confirmed dead, according to Commander Stuart Cundy.

The package is also to include a commitment to ensure that all who lost their homes are re-housed as soon as possible near where they lived, temporary accommodation is paid for and that all victims are consulted during a public inquiry into the fire.

During a meeting with survivors at her Downing Street office on Saturday, Mrs May said more help will be sent to help survivors cope and find alternative housing now that the building has been destroyed.

Grenfell Tower, a 24-storey apartment block in North Kensington, West London, was set up in 1974.

She has also pledged £5 million (S$8.8 million) of support, housing guarantees and help with access to bank accounts and cash.
