SCAD Presents aTVfest 2017- 'Quantico'

Michael Seitzman, creator of Code Black, has signed on for Season 3, with Safran serving as a consultant and executive producer. Seitzman already has been working on next season, outlining the storyline and firming up the returning cast.

Seitzman is taking on executive producer/showrunner duties for Quantico while also continuing in the same capacity on his CBS medical drama series Code Black. Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Johanna Braddy and Blair Underwood will all continue on the show. There is also a new showrunner joining the family.

Now, it will be up to Seitzman and the four remaining cast members to determine just where that might lead.

After the ABC anti-terrorism drama eked out a scant 13-episode third season, Yasmine Al Massri, who played played twin Federal Bureau of Investigation recruits Nimah and Raina, announced her departure. In addition, original cast member Aunjanue Ellis and Russell Tovey will not be coming back for another season full-time, but they can be expected to appear once in a while.

Production on Quantico will remain in NY, with the writers room moving to Los Angeles where Code Black is also based. Quantico saw a continuous decline in its ratings last season, but its global appeal and the Netflix SVOD deal helped secure the third season's renewal, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Seitzman will be stepping into the new role of executive producer/showrunner for the Federal Bureau of Investigation thriller's third season. It debuted in 2015 on a high note, but it started to decline in the second half of Season 1.

"Quantico" was picked up in May for a 13-episode Season 3 and does not now have a premiere date.
