Rosenstein Says He Won't Fire Special Counsel Unless There's Good Cause

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who named Mueller to lead the investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russian Federation, testified there was no reason to dismiss him, and said that he alone has the authority to do so. (Melania also reportedly told her husband "she believed the appointment of Mr. Mueller would speed resolution of the Russian Federation scandal", resulting in his exoneration.) "The pushback also represented growing willingness among staff members to try to keep Mr. Trump from making damaging mistakes", the Times reports, "an important internal change in a White House dominated by a president who often demands obeisance". "I know Bob Mueller".

PBS' Judy Woodruff reported Monday that Ruddy told her after visiting the White House that Trump is "considering perhaps terminating" Mueller - a decision that would set off a massive political backlash.

One would think that history would be enough to persuade Trump that firing Mueller is a road he doesn't want to travel. Republican lawmakers are urging the Trump administration to release the recordings, if they exist. Sources familiar with his visit told NBC News he met with chief of staff Reince Priebus and chief strategist Steve Bannon.

From a conservative radio talk show: "I think Congress should now intervene and they should abolish the independent counsel, because Comey makes so clear that it's the poison fruit of a deliberate manipulation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation director leaking to the New York Times, deliberately set up this particular situation".

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein says he has seen no evidence of good cause to fire the special prosecutor overseeing the Russian Federation investigation.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whose contacts with Russia's ambassador to the USA during the presidential campaign have sparked questions, is appearing before the Senate intelligence committee as it investigates alleged Russian meddling in the election. If you can just try to describe for the public for the lay person, for the person who's following this but may not possess a law degree, what is the attorney general allowed to be involved in, and what is he not allowed to be involved in, and who makes that determination, and how do we know whether he's complying or not?

We also met a whole bunch of characters, only getting a small taste of who they are on the game's website . Beyond Good & Evil 2 is actually a prequel, taking place before Jade (the hero of the original) was born.

Solicitor general Robert Bork ultimately fired Cox. Ruddy seemed to derive his assessment at least in part from comments Jay Sekulow, a member of Trump's legal, made over the weekend on ABC News' "This Week". If Rosenstein declined, the task would then fall to acting solicitor general Jeffrey Wall.

With few exceptions, Trump's allies are urging him not to move to dismiss Mueller, which would be both politically and technically complicated. I personally think it would be a significant mistake'. Let's not forget what this is originally all about.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said via email, "Chris speaks for himself". "I don't think he's really pondering it", Rep. Adam Kinzinger said.

Starr on Monday called Mueller "a great man" who is "honest as the day is long" and has a "great, great team of complete professionals".

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said it would be "extraordinarily unwise". So it's hard for me to even respond in a serious way.

"I don't think donations are disqualifying at all, but if you represented the Clinton Foundation or Mrs. Clinton herself, that would be a bit disturbing", Graham said.
