Senate Democrat says any WH tapes due by Friday

Although there is still no word from special counsel Robert Mueller on the obstruction of justice investigation reportedly ongoing against President Donald Trump, a new poll has revealed that most Americans think the president guilty of a felony in interfering with the official FBI investigation into the alleged Russian Federation tampering with the 2016 presidential election.

He's part of Trump's outside legal team, addressing Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's 2016 election interference.

James Comey was, as head of the FBI, leading an investigation into a number of Trump's associates.

Washington D.C. [USA], June 17 (ANI): Some critics of U.S. President Donald Trump have expressed fear that Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein could be fired after the former's tirade apparently against the latter on Twitter, according to the Washington Post.

Jay Sekulow, a lawyer who is part of a team hired by Mr Trump to deal with allegations of collusion by his campaign with Moscow, appeared on Sunday to contradict Mr Trump's statement on Twitter on Friday that he was being investigated for firing his Federal Bureau of Investigation director last month. "And if President Trump were to fire Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, and then [get] special counsel Mueller fired, I believe Congress would begin impeachment proceedings".

Be smart: Trump, notorious for his litigiousness in NY, is playing an inside-outside game: stockpiling talent to protect him legally, while publicly trying to discredit the investigators and whatever they might eventually say or do. "Witch Hunt" - Sekulow said he was reacting only to a Washington Post story about the alleged probe citing anonymous sources.

Trump has hinted that he may have taped conversations with Comey - in which the ex-FBI chief says the president pressured him for his loyalty and on the Russian Federation investigation while also urging him to drop a probe into former national security advisor Michael Flynn.

"But you don't know that he's not under investigation, right?" "There is not an investigation of the president of the United States, period". And with the investigation reaching all the way up to Trump - and with Trump regularly tweeting about it - it's almost impossible for the White House to compartmentalize.

"That bill is not going to go from that group to the President's desk", Rubio said. Claims also arose that Trump asked the director of the National Security Agency to declare that he was not under investigation and asked the Director of National Intelligence to tell Comey to back off the Flynn investigation.

Lieu isn't the only House Democrat warning Trump of consequences for firing Mueller and Rosenstein.

Sekulow blamed the confusion over Twitter's 140-character limit. "So you can not view this, in my mind, Chuck, or in any reasonable person's mind, especially someone that's representing the president of the United States, these things in a vacuum".

"So here's what you have: the president issued that tweet, that social media statement, based on a fake report, a report with no documented sources, from "The Washington Post", he said. We've had no indication of that", said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice.

"We are far closer to the beginning of the investigation than we are to the end", he said.

Todd was one of many cable news personalities who clashed with Trump's personal attorney over his insistence that the Washington Post's report was inaccurate.
