Suspect in shooting at Republicans baseball practice was Bernie Sanders backer

Same standard of blame in shootings should always apply

The firearms recovered after a gunman opened fire on a Republican congressional baseball practice and injured five people in Alexandria, Virginia, appear to have been purchased legally, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other authorities said Thursday.

Jeff Weaver, Sanders' former presidential campaign manager, told CNN that Sanders' political staff was trying to get more information. The FBI said the 66-year-old home inspector had been living out a van near the park since March.

"I don't think Tom was a killer I think something broke", he said. He was shot by police and taken to the hospital and reportedly asked whether they were "Republican or Democrats", before the shooting incident. "Real change can only come about through nonviolent action, and anything else runs against our most deeply held American values".

Court records show Hodgkinson's legal trouble started in the 1990s. In 2006, he was arrested for battery.

Hodgkinson owned a home inspection business, according to his Facebook page but his license was not renewed in 2016, according to the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Officers shot Hodgkinson, and President Donald Trump said the gunman died.

Hodgkinson was an unemployed home inspector from Belleville in southern IL.

Before Hodgkinson emerged from a black SUV that had been parked outside the family home for much of the afternoon, Wagner, the sheriff's deputy, said, "She wants this to end. she's scared to death".

Aguero will stay at Man City
PSG are willing to offer £60million for the prolific striker but his agent Hernan Reguera said: 'There is no doubt and fear. Aguero though has maintained that he would want to see out the two years remaining on his contract with City.

Senator Bernie Sanders condemned the shooting and said the suspect "apparently volunteered" on his presidential campaign.

Authorities are now at the suspect's home in Belleville, Illinois. At least five people, including Hodgkinson and two Capitol Police officers, were injured before Hodgkinson was taken into custody.

Lobstein said, "I hope that people can forgive him, but don't forget it". "I can't wrap my head around it", she said.

Walsh said he hired his friend to do some work for him a couple of years ago, but hadn't seen him around town recently.

The widow went on to say she just doesn't know anything more about why her husband opened fire on the baseball diamond near Alexandria, Virginia.

Hodgkinson, who had been married to her husband for nearly 30 years, said he had "made preparations to leave" by "selling nearly everything he owned from his business".
