Tigers put DH Victor Martinez on DL with irregular heartbeat

The Tigers placed Victor Martinez on the 10-day disabled list after he was hospitalized on Thursday and diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat, The Detroit News reports.

According to CBS Sports, Martinez asked to be pulled from Thursday's game because he was suffering from cold sweats, dizziness and a racing heartbeat. He ended up requiring an overnight stay in the hospital, and Ausmus suggests that he may do so again tonight, as Evan Woodberry of MLive.com tweets.

"I talked to him", manager Brad Ausmus said.
