United States president not under investigation for obstruction: His attorney

U.S. President Donald Trump speaks about the shootings in Alexandria Virginia from the White House in Washington U.S

Trump tweeted on Friday: "I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!"

"If President Trump were to try to replicate [former President Richard] Nixon's Saturday Night Massacre by firing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in addition to Mueller, Congress must unite to stop him - without respect to party, and for the sake of the nation", he said.

Former FBI Director James Comey told the Senate intelligence committee that Trump pressured him on the Russian Federation investigation and asked him to drop an investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump's tweet, however, explicitly says he is under investigation and calls that investigation a "witch hunt". That tweet was in response to a Washington Post story that ran with five unnamed sources, without identifying the agencies they represented, saying that the special counsel had broadened out his investigation to include the president.

Sekulow, chief counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, said the president was only referring to a news report.

I believe Comey was correct when he did not agree to Trump's request. "That's undemocratic on its face and a blatant violation of the president's oath of office".

Last week, Trump sent a tweet referring to being the victim of a "witch hunt".

But right after making that declaration, the interview took an interesting and confusing twist: Sekulow then said - twice - that the president is being investigated.

He also cited the testimony from former FBI Director James Comey before the Senate intelligence committee, in which Comey said he had told Trump he was not under investigation in the months leading up to his May 9 firing.

India captain Virat Kohli: Pakistan completely outplayed us in Champions Trophy final
The Indian captain praised left handers batting approach and said 80 percent of his "high risk shots" came off well. Amir had been ruled out of Pakistan's semi-final against England due to a back spasm during a practice session.

Trump's inability to restrain himself under pressure is nothing new. "And now he's being investigated by the Department of Justice", Sekulow told Wallace. The official demanded anonymity because the official was not authorized to be named discussing the deliberations.

The president has directed some of his frustration at Rosenstein and Mueller.

According to former-Director Comey's testimony to Senate, he believes his firing to have been motivated by the Russian Federation investigation.

"If the president is innocent, why is he afraid of this investigation?" asked NBC's Chuck Todd in a Meet the Press interview. Trump fired Comey in early May.

Trump's lawyer is both claiming that the investigation is bogus, and that there is no investigation in the same answer.

The ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee says he believes there is evidence that the Trump campaign colluded with Russian Federation to interfere in the general election. Trump got rid of Comey, in May to hamper an inquiry into his sacked national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

The White House has directed questions for details to outside legal counsel, which has not responded. Cullen will represent the vice president's personal interests and will not be paid with taxpayer funds. Pence headed the Trump transition until Inauguration Day. And, also, does Trump think Rosenstein did anything wrong? Cohen has worked for Trump since the mid-2000s and was active in the campaign.

Meanwhile, another lawyer, Washington veteran John Dowd, has joined the Trump legal team.
