Updated Betting Odds Released For Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor

Many believe that the Irishman and Mayweather can set the record for the most successful pay-per-view event in combat sports history, which is now held by Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao.

The UFC lightweight champion has been booked to fight fellow megastar and boxing all-time great Floyd Mayweather Jr.in a boxing contest on August 26 in Las Vegas.

Both fighters have spent years crafting outlandish public personae characterized by a few common themes: cartoonish arrogance, a fetishistic obsession with money and an eagerness to make reckless pronouncements about their opponents, their opponents' fans - and, increasingly, each other. With that being said, Van Heerden then posted unedited footage from the sparring session to social media showing him getting the better of McGregor. McGregor tweeted "THE FIGHT IS ON" several minutes earlier, posting a picture of himself next to one of Mayweather's father, Floyd Sr.

It's probably not wise of McGregor to allow filming in his training camp. because this video doesn't offer much of an argument regarding his chances against Floyd. McGregor's biggest pay-per-view draw to date drew 1.6 million. Mayweather earned $250 million for his fight against Pacquiao. He knocked out Eddie Alvarez in the second round of the UFC 205 main event on November 12 to win the 155-pound title.

The fight will be a boxing match at 154 pounds and the fighters will wear 10-ounce gloves.

The stage is set for one of the most-anticipated hybrid fights of all time. And unlike in boxing where oddsmakers have the undefeated Mayweather as a big favorite against the UFC star, they're pretty evenly matched when it comes to smack talk. "The guy is 49-0 and not even Manny Pacquiao was able to beat him, I don't think Conor McGregor will be able to do it".

"I've stopped doubting this kid a long time ago", White said. Both fighters are noted for their ability to sell their fights, and both have exchanged in trash talking and more to promote their bouts.

The prospect of a blockbuster fight between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr and UFC star Conor McGregor has had tongues wagging for months, but on Wednesday it became a reality. The opening line was -1,000 on Mayweather (1/10) and +700 on McGregor (7/1), and that's still where the numbers are today.

Correia does see one way the UFC lightweight champ might have a chance.

Mayweather apparently learned about McGregor's verbal skills even before his fighting acumen, according to Mayweather adviser Leonard Ellerbe.
