Vehicle strikes pedestrians in London, several injured

The alleged Finsbury Park attacker is pinned to the ground

London police say they are investigating a "major incident" in North London after reports of a vehicle collision with pedestrians early Monday, leaving at least one person dead.

Emergency services stand guard on Fonthill road near Finsbury Park station after a vehicle struck pedestrians in north London, Monday.

Cynthia Vanzella, who lives near the scene, said on Twitter: "Horrible to watch police officers doing cardiac massage at people on the floor, desperately trying to save them". According to the Muslim Council of Britain and eyewitnesses, many of those injured were worshippers leaving the mosque.

Mr Corbyn added his thoughts were with the victims and their families, while Mrs May said it was a "terrible incident".

"We are working closely with other members of the emergency services at the scene", the ambulance service said.

'Two people ran away and one got taken away to the police.

"The van just came through as people were walking towards where it was coming from", he said.

"People now have a big question about safety in London after all these terrorist attacks, and we want to assure them that they are safe, and that's why we want to work with the police", Kozbar said.

Kevin Bate, director of The London Ambulance Service (LAS) said, without elaborating on the conditions of those injured, that the paramedic services were called at 00.15 hours (local time) to attend a traffic accident on the Seven Sister Boulevard.

Shocking footage from the scene showed Muslims tackling the suspected attacker and holding him at the scene, after he reportedly screamed "I'm gonna kill all Muslims".

One person has been arrested. His attack killed five people. Eight of the injured were taken to hospitals and the rest were treated at the scene.

I'm totally shocked at the incident at Finsbury Park tonight.

Smith II, a U.S. counter-terror analyst, has observed activity on pro-Islamic State channels today urging a violent response to the ugly van attack on innocent Muslim worshipers.

Mr Norrris said the men from the van were "all white guys".

The three knife-wielding assailants drove a hired van into pedestrians on the bridge and stabbed others in Borough Market in an attack initially praised and subsequently claimed by the Daesh Takfiri group.

There is a massive police response on the scene with riot vans, armed personnel and a helicopter.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan said it was a "deliberate attack".

"I think it was an anti-Muslim attack and the reason I say attack is the van was a rental van and. our street doesn't look like a normal road street and it's not something that you would drive 60km/h into".

A group of men huddled together to condemn the "terror attack" outside the mosque, where people had been engaging in Ramadan. But it was raided and shut down and later reclaimed by the local Muslim community, who have transformed it into a place which actively promotes better community relations across faiths.

"I ran here to check they were OK", he said.

On May 22, a suicide bomber killed 22 people at a concert by American pop singer Ariana Grande in Manchester in northern England.
