2 sisters killed in crash into in home mourned at vigil

Clinton County sheriff's Chief Deputy Joseph Mink said Thursday the driver was arrested on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and that blood tests were being conducted. She could face more serious charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated if opiates in her system are confirmed, Fox 59 reported.

According to the sheriff's office, the tragedy occurred just before 9:30 p.m. when a white vehicle traveling more than 80 miles per hour smashed into the living room of the Fullerton family home in Frankfort, Indiana.

When Clinton County Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene, they found a white vehicle in the living room.

The crash killed Haleigh Fullerton and her little sister, Callie, who were both inside the home.

They say they're still waiting on test results to see if drugs or alcohol played a role.

Five people were inside of the vehicle when it crashed and only suffered minor injuries.

The girls' 37-year-old mother, Bridget, was entering the living room when the crash happened.

A GoFundMe page set up to raise money in the sisters" honor described them as "beautiful ladies" who "touched every heart they came in contact with'. The family's son was upstairs at the time, and the father was not home. She was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital, but her condition is unknown. Dennis was not home when it happened. They were treated with non-life threatening injuries at the scene. Investigators are unsure what caused her to lose control of the vehicle and travel 100 feet off the road at the fast speed.

The driver of the auto, 17-year-old Alia Sierra, lost control and drove through a ditch before hitting the home.

The home has major damage, and local members of the Fullerton's church secured their home. The driver was taken to the juvenile detention center in Delaware County.
