Amazon Working on New Messaging App

Amazon Working on New Messaging App

Amazon has begun surveying customers to understand what feature of messaging services are most important to them. A leaked promotional teaser for the service indicates that it will also feature picture sharing.

As it continues to expand its own ecosystem, Amazon may have a new messaging app on the horizon.

The e-commerce giant Amazon is reportedly working on launching its very own messaging app dubbed as Anytime, according to a report from AFTV News. Additionally the messaging app will have tasks like playing games, order food, which can be done in groups.

There's no shortage of messaging apps on the market, but it looks like another one may be coming soon from a major player.

The number of messaging tools vying for attention is nothing short of bewildering, with everyone from Apple and Microsoft to Google and Facebook offering ways to communicate with other users of the same platforms. The new service called "Anytime" will run on smartphones, tablets, PCs and smart watches. The description in the survey notes that the app would allow people to connect to each other without knowing their phone numbers.

With messaging apps red hot, Amazon has chose to throw its two cents into the fire according to Amazon focused AFTV News.

Amazon has yet to announce when the service will launch. Users can also choose to have their messages encrypted so that sensitive data cannot be accessed externally. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise if the company suddenly drops a standalone messaging app.
