Arrest warrant issued for Cowboys return man Lucky Whitehead

Warrant Issued For Dallas Cowboys Receiver Lucky Whitehead in Virginia

Whitehead was charged with shoplifting/petit larceny - under $200, a misdemeanor, according to Prince William County Police records.

Whitehead was supposed to appear in court on July 6th, but failed to do so.

TMZ Sports reports the news about the arrest warrant being issued for Whitehead.

Whitehead has recently been in the news after posting that his dog, Blitz, was taken and held for ransom.

He then slammed into the exit doors as they closed, dropping his daughter , who was in a auto seat at the time, police said. According to police, Christenson had been heavily using heroin and prescription pain medication during her pregnancy.

Local rapper Boogotti Kasino responded to Whitehead's accusation by claiming the dog was not stolen, but that Whitehead did owe him money. He had just three catches last season for 48 yards.

Whitehead, who is from Manassas, Va., and the Cowboys are in training camp in Oxnard, Calif. Fourth round draft pick Ryan Switzer is untested in the National Football League, but the return specialist from North Carolina is surely thanking his (favored) stars that he's sitting right behind Whitehead on the depth chart.

The 25-year-old wideout told reporters after Monday morning's walkthrough that he wasn't aware of the warrant out for his arrest. Switzer impressed in minicamp as Whitehead was rehabbing a hamstring injury. Cornerback Nolan Carroll was arrested in Dallas for driving while intoxicated and linebacker Damien Wilson was arrested for two counts of felony aggravated assault.
