Kyle Walker deal has strengthened Tottenham Hotspur's hand regarding Eric Dier

Tottenham Hotspur have rejected three transfer offers from Manchester United for Eric Dier over the last month, with the Old Trafford outfit now ending their interest in the England worldwide, according to The Guardian.

Tottenham Hotspur star Eric Dier has been linked with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has caught the attention of many clubs, not just due to his defensive prowess, but vastly due to his versatility, as he has been successfully deployed as a defensive midfielder, centre-back, and right-back.

However, the report suggests that Daniel Levy told United that the versatile former Sporting Lisbon man was not for sale at any price and rejected bids of £25 million, £30m and nearly £40m.

However, one can understand why Spurs are ready to turn down an offer of £60m for Dier.

Dier is a key part of the Spurs team as well as the England national team and Mauricio Pochettino will likely use him as a key part of his side as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

Having just received over £54m for the England global right-back, Spurs do not exactly "need" to sell another of their prized assets in Dier.

However, United will do well to get Tottenham to sell after Spurs already lost Kyle Walker to Manchester City this month.

United could miss out on Dier and they are now considering a move for Inter Milan target Vidal.
