Palestinians have right to 'healthy' resistance against Israel: Activist

For the second day, the Israeli authorities closed Jerusalem's flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound on Saturday following a shootout that left five people dead.

In addition, the Hamas terror group on Saturday described the closure of the site as a "religious war" and called for attacks against Israelis.

One of the mufti's bodyguards, Khaled Hamo, said police "entered the crowd and took the mufti".

On Friday, three Arab-Israeli gunmen shot dead two Israeli policemen on the outskirts of the compound, holy to Muslims and Jews, and were then killed by security forces.

OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen warned of the Israeli occupation's attempts to impose new facts inside Al Aqsa mosque, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Police said the attack occurred shortly after 7am.

"The Israeli government is ready to take it in that direction because it reiterates the negative stereotype of the aggressive Palestinian, especially under global silence over its breaches of human rights and worldwide law in Jerusalem", she added. The compound is home to both the Al-Aqsa mosque, and the place known as the Wailing Wall, which is the holiest site in Judaism.

Hundreds of Israeli police have occupied the streets of the area surrounding the mosque, erecting roadblocks and preventing access.

Brides panic as popular bridal shop Alfred Angelo abruptly closes
The owner Christine Elliot said they haven't heard anything from the dress company and had no indication it would be closing. I want to know if I am going to receive my dress, if I am going to receive my down payment back, or what".

"It is based on an estimate which will be made on Sunday on the security situation on the Temple Mount (the esplanade of the Mosques) that the site will be re-opened gradually to the faithful and visitors", added the Prime minister.

Jews are allowed to visit, but are banned from praying there to avoid provoking tensions.

Meanwhile, Lane said the shooting incident in the Jerusalem al-Quds is "tragic" and "it is to be condemned".

A relative said the attackers were members of the Jabareen clan - two 19-year-olds and a 29-year-old.

In addition to the developments in Jerusalem, the papers also highlighted the Israeli army killing of a Palestinian in Deheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem during early morning clashes following an army raid of the camp to arrest activists.

A wave of unrest that broke out in October 2015 has claimed the lives of at least 277 Palestinians, 42 Israelis, two Americans, two Jordanians, an Eritrean, a Sudanese and a Briton, according to an AFP toll.

The violence had greatly subsided in recent months.
