Premier League target Hernandez

Javier Hernandez

Hernandez had a spell in England with Manchester United, but now plays his football in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, where he has impressed for the Bundesliga side.

The 29-year-old, who scored 11 goals last season, has just one year remaining on his contract with the German outfit.

West Ham have been keeping a close eye on Hernandez during his time at the Confederations Cup with Mexico, and his performances, according to the Mirror, have persuaded West Ham and their manager Slaven Bilic to make a move.

West Ham have been busy in the transfer window in terms of bids and saw offers rejected for Cologne striker Anthony Modeste and Villarreal forward Cedric Bakambu. The club can take advantage of the fact that Leverkusen might need to offload a player or two since they missed out on European qualification for next season. On several occasions the Mexican striker came on as a substitute in the second half for United and changed the course of the match with a goal or two.

Katy Perry furthers Niall Horan romance claims
Have you seen the movie The Graduate? "I see him around all the time", she shared with Nova 96.9 FM radio show Fitzy & Wippa. Katy Perry later posted a picture on Instagram Stories calling out Niall Horan a "Stage-5 Clinger".

And he has struck 28 goals in 54 games for the Bundesliga club.

Slaven Bilic, meanwhile, is desperate for some firepower to provide the goals to keep West Ham challenging in the top half of the Premier League after a hard spell last season.

Arsenal's Olivier Giroud, Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi and Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho have all been linked with a move to the London Stadium this summer, but West Ham are yet to sign the proven goalscorer they want.
