Range specs and sensible pricing tipped for offline-only Xiaomi 5X smartphone

Range specs and sensible pricing tipped for offline-only Xiaomi 5X smartphone

Xiaomi 5X aka Xiaomi X1 has been subjected to several leaks and rumours already and hints that the device may come with dual-camera setup, antenna lines, and LED flash, which will be placed right next to the dual cameras at the back. On the other hand, the higher end variant will run on a more powerful Snapdragon 660 chipset and come equipped with a whopping 6GB of RAM.

It is worth pointing out that the report says, the Xiaomi 5X will be unveiled on July 26, the date when Meizu is also expected to launch its Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus. Besides that, Xiaomi is rumoured to announce a new sub-brand, targeting the offline market.

The poster was leaked a day ago. Besides that, we also know that the phone will sport 4GB of RAM and carry a price of 1999 Yuan or $296 in China. On the pricing front, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5X is likely to be priced at CNY 1,999, which is approximately Rs 19,000.

Xiaomi will launch its next generation Redmi lineup of smartphones next month which includes the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi Redmi 5, Xiaomi Redmi 5X, Xiaomi Redmi 5A. Though the leaked poster seems to be some kind of promotional material, we still suggest you take this report with a pinch of salt.

The poster reveals nothing about the handset's native display resolution or if it would support a full HD display.

Last week, a mysterious photo of a Xiaomi phone surfaced online. Apart from that, the dual camera setup is expected to come with 5x optical zoom support.

Smartphone manufacturers need a strong traditional retail presence even in this digital age of total e-commerce domination, and to prove its commitment for further growth with surging sales in physical stores across Asia, Xiaomi has an offline-only product series in the works. Also, if the reports are correct, the Xiaomi 5X may arrive in two variants: standard and premium.
