HTC U11 Life to come with Snapdragon 630

HTC U11 Life

As for this Ocean Life, it will be mid-range only so some of the specs are lower.

In Taiwan recently, the HTC U11 has gotten an update that brings 60fps video recording. However, it seems that HTC has been very excited with their "U11 super formula" and therefore wants to apply it to other products from their lineup.

It'll pack a 1080p 5.2in display, IP67 waterproofing, and generally share a bunch of features with the regular HTC U11, including the absence of a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone is speculated to be an 80 percent copy of the flagship smartphone apart from the internals.

To begin with, there will be a 5.2-inch Full HD display at the front with the Snapdragon 630 SoC under-the-hood.

Revenue came in at NT$16.1 billion last quarter, 11 percent higher than NT$14.5 billion in the prior quarter, as the company launched its U11 smartphone in May, HTC said in a statement. HTC U11 Life will remain sensitive to the side faces of the case and will get the Bluetooth module 5.0.

The phone should be launched by the end of this year, but there's still no info about the pricing.

HTC did not provide sales guidance or an earnings outlook in the statement, although it reiterated the strength of its U11 flagship handset and said the ecosystem for its Vive virtual reality headset has gained support from industry players such as Google, Intel Corp and Apple Inc. The smartphone is also expected to sport the U11's 16MP panoramic selfie camera as well as a 16MP rear camera with PDAF autofocus.
