In a new interview with People, Angelina Jolie says she's gotten "a little bit stronger" since filing for divorce from Brad Pitt one year ago.

Jolie put her career on hold to help them through the past year, and though she's ready to take on new projects, including "Maleficent 2," her children's well-being remains top priority.

Jolie tells The Associated Press that she had the script for "First They Killed My Father" for several years, but moved forward with filming only after Maddox said he was ready.

We think this goes without saying!

The First They Killed My Father filmmaker admits it has been a 'very, very hard time in her household since she and Pitt split in September 2016 but the children are slowly adjusting to the situation.

On her past year after splitting from Brad Pitt: I have had my ups and downs. "And that's OK, because I know who I am, and the kids know who I am", she told the outlet. "They go through their years of training and everything else comes second.", she added.

Jolie and Pitt were together for 11 years, and married for two. "I never expect to be the one that everybody understands or likes", she continued.

Angelina Jolie has been pretty honest with fans about the fact that she's still "healing" after her much-publicized divorce from Brad Pitt, even owning the fact that she "doesn't like being single".

"He was fantastic, he actually really impressed me, he had to earn it", the 42-year-old told ExtraTV while promoting the film at the event. "Every location, every type of project, I'm going to have to adjust it to however much they can handle". "It's happy. Happy and light, and we needed that", she explained.

At the end of the day, we're just happy to hear that Angelina and her kids are doing so well.

"They're getting better", the mom notes. So Piers clarified that her opinion of Angelina Jolie was just a joke and he was smiling when he did it. In addition, she focused on her children who also suffered severely from the separation of the Brangelina.
