Ex-Spurs man, Paulinho scores victor as Barca beat Getafe

Barcelona's record 105 million-euro signing Ousmane Dembele who is set to be sidelined for up to four months after a hamstring injury has made just three appearances for Barca since sealing his move from Borussia Dortmund last month

Barcelona will feel fortunate to leave with all three points after being nowhere near their best against an impressive Getafe outfit.

Barcelona flawless start in the La Liga continued after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Getafe on a day the Spanish giant nearly failed to come to the party.

"Before the game started we saw that the grass was long and dry", said the midfielder, who replaced Andres Iniesta at half time.

As for Getafe, Jorge Molina once again led the line for the capital outfit, while Japan worldwide Shibasaki also kept his position in the team.

In the 16th minute Getafe squandered a great opportunity to grab the lead after Molina failed to connect to Baku Shibasaki's deflected cross.

Barca lost Dembele to a hamstring injury midway through the first half after he had attempted a back-heel near the corner flag, Gerard Deulofeu coming on.

Samuel Umtiti, meanwhile, powered a header at goal, but it was saved by Vicente Guaita.

Getafe's energy and pressure was too much for the Catalans and they were able to take the lead when Shibasaki fired in a superb 20-yard volley on 39 minutes, leaving Marc-Andre ter Stegen helpless in goal.

Getafe hero Shibasaki had to leave the match with an injury of his own early in the second half, shortly before Sergi Roberto tested Guaita.

Barcelona were pressing, however, and the visitors eventually levelled the scores in the 62nd minute when Denis Suarez, who had worked some space inside the Getafe box, found the top corner with a brilliant effort.

And Paulinho was happy to get off the mark for his new side. Certainly not a vintage performance by his standards, but Messi was still key as Barca made it four wins out of four, providing the assist for Paulinho's goal.

Barcelona completed the comeback vs. Getafe and remain ideal in La Liga courtesy of new-signing Paulinho's strike late on.
