Facebook turns more friendly

Facebook wants to help you make more friends with a new feature

Instead of left or right swipe - as is the case on Tinder, Facebook asks people whether they would like to meet up with a particular person. "Meet up", here, refers to a date.

Facebook wants to show you more of what you have in common with potential new friends and make sure you don't forget about your old ones either. His response would apparently be kept private unless both he and the other person said yes, The Verge reports. Since, numerous Messenger users are find it not cool to chat with random people, this new feature will definitely open the doors for such people who want to find their own date or just want to catch up the people in real world.

According to Motherboard, only a few people have confirmed the notification's existence thus far.

Facebook launched a feature called "Discover People", a feature implemented to help you find new connections through groups and events. "He claims that while he was using Facebook, a notification popped up saying "[Name redacted] and 15 others may want to meet up with you this week". Do let us know if this feature is appearing on your Facebook Messenger app too. "We look forward to hearing people's feedback". The test is now underway in New Zealand and Toronto.

Facebook has been looking to drive more engaging in Messenger and Facebook, now going beyond providing a platform for users to engage and actively facilitating engagement between users of the platform for those sweet, sweet advertising dollars. This means Facebook is telling the truth.

When you click "get to know friends" you will be leaded to bunch of connections. If so, then this could simply be the latest iteration of a family of location-based Facebook features the tech giant's been toying with for a while. What's amusing is the copy has managed to eclipse the original and it isn't great for Snap Inc., which for months has suffered as a public company.

It does seem to make sense if Facebook is trying to take on other dating services.

There doesn't seem to be any clear "dating app" language present instead it's more focused on friendly encounters, i.e. What remains unclear until then is, will people have an option to opt out of it.
