Narayan Rane meeting Amit Shah on Monday evening: BJP

Modi-Shah

Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah on Monday said that unlike the Congress, there has been no charge of corruption against the National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre. On Saturday, BJP state president Ajay Bhatt issued an order reducing the 23 district level organisational units to 13 in keeping with the number of the administrative districts. The BJP workers and leaders were unanimous that the directions were timely and would boost the party, organisationally, in the local body elections early next year and in the 2019 general elections. Passed at the party's national executive meeting, the political resolution sought to dispel concerns over the state of the economy and praised measures like GST and demonetisation.

Shah's statement came at the ongoing BJP's National Executive Meet which is being attended by almost 2,500 party members, including 13 Chief Ministers.

The BJP sources said the party's resolution is likely to assert that the economy has been doing better under the NDA than it did under the previous UPA government.

Shah's comment on Gandhi was briefed by Railway and Coal minister Piyush Goyal.

On the other hand, BJP National President Amit Shah met with party General Secretary Ram Madhav and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at the latter's residence.

Shah explained that the campaign was successful because loyal party workers were spending at least 15 days at the booth level; in some instances, he added, it was even as long as six months to a year. "We should take BJP beyond elections and make it a instrument of mass participation to improve quality of life of the people".

Reminding Modi of the remarks he made against the opposition leaders, Tewari said: "This is very unfortunate".

Dwelling on a number of steps the government has taken to get rid of black money and its eradication, Amit Shah spoke about how demonetisation sent a message that this government will deal sternly with black money.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday announced his "pro poor" scheme called Saubhagya Yojna that aims at free electrification at a large scale. "As far as using harsh and provocative language is concerned, Modi should reflect and introspect as to whose words these were".
