Seasonal Jobs 2017: Target Hiring 100000 for 2017 Holidays

Target plans to hire thousands of people across IL ahead of the upcoming holiday season.

The company's shares rose 3.4 percent as the move, coming off four years of flat seasonal hiring, cheered investors in a gloomy retail landscape where companies are shutting hundreds of stores and cutting jobs.

In addition, Target will hire 4,500 workers for its distribution and fulfillment centers to replenish products to stores and to fulfill online orders throughout the season. This will take place from 10:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m. from Friday, Oct. 13 through Sunday, Oct. 15.

That represents a big boost over last year's 70,000 temporary employees. "An increasing number of these jobs will involve new technologies and be more customer-centric, as brick-and-mortar retailers seek to create experiences that consumers can not find online".

"I would be stunned if we see other retailers increasing their seasonal hiring by 43 percent for the holiday season".

Target is aiming to do a better job of keeping shelves stocked and fulfilling online orders for customers who opt to pick up their items in the store. "We are seeing a labor market in which skilled technical and logistics/supply chain talent is in high demand". This means that those looking for work this holiday season can head to its website or one of its stores to apply.

Target plans to hire 2,500 seasonal workers in Colorado, including 1,500 in the Denver metro area, the giant retailer announced Wednesday.

"Target team members play such an important role in helping guests as they prepare to celebrate the holidays with their families", Potts said.

Opportunities are posted now on Target's seasonal hiring page. Some on-site interviews will be conducted.
