Showdown rivals come together to support Harvey relief efforts

"Huge disasters like Hurricane Harvey are extremely hard, but we always strive to do the right thing". Currently, we are working on sheltering and feeding. The Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund at the Greater Houston Community Foundation will receive $2 million. Volunteers were on their way to spend weeks serving meals. That means for every one dollar you give, they will donate two - up to $10 million in total. As of Friday, some 42,000 people sought refuge in these shelters overnight.

According to the corporation, more than 1,060 truckloads of supplies have shipped to affected areas so far, including 930 truckloads of water.

"We will deploying folks to Texas and Louisiana for the next few months", Bruno added.

Hurricane Harvey has dropped more than 50 inches of rain in and around the Houston area, causing widespread flooding, multiple fatalities and massive property damage. The actress is a faithful supporter of the #Red Cross and makes regular donations.

As some residents in Texas begin to go back to their homes ravaged by Hurricane Harvey, several people around central Wisconsin are looking to send food and other supplies to the Lone Star State.

Right now, Tetting says 57 Red Cross Ohio Buckeye Region volunteers have been deployed to Texas.

"He has experienced some hardship in his life, so he really showed an interest in wanting to help others who have had hardships as well", Jaggers said. "The people here are so generous and that just fuels the American Red Cross".

The American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley is gathering donations to ensure relief is provided to those in need and not into the hands of the wrong individuals.

The American Red Cross says on Thursday night, 91 trained disaster responders from Wisconsin are either on their way or in Texas helping with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. These gifts enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
