The Trailer For The New Six-Hour Margaret Atwood Miniseries Is Here

'Alias Grace' Debuts a Trailer and Poster with Sarah Gadon

The streaming service released the trailer for "Alias Grace" on Friday, teasing what will be a six-hour miniseries based on the iconic author's 1996 work of historical fiction, hitting screens on November 3.

The 2-minute-and-30-second trailer introduces Marks, who explains she has been an inmate for 15 years.

The Plot: The story of Alias Grace follows Grace Marks, a poor, young Irish immigrant and domestic servant in Upper Canada who, along with stable hand James McDermott, was convicted of the brutal murders of their employer, Thomas Kinnear, and his housekeeper, Nancy Montgomery, in 1843. When Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon) speaks those words, the latest trailer for "Alias Grace" settles into territory somewhere between gothic thriller and true crime mystery. "Rightly or wrongly, it does not matter". At one point, two men question whether she is an amnesiac or "simply guilty".

A six episode-limited series, Alias Grace is being adapted for television by Sarah Polley (Stories We Tell), who produced and wrote all of the episodes, which were directed by Mary Harron (American Psycho). Watch the trailer here or above.

There's nary a red cloak in sight, but the trailer for Handmaid's Tale author Margaret Atwood's latest TV adaptation - Netflix's Alias Grace - boasts numerous novelist's other familiar staples.
