Trump pledges collaboration after tweet on London attack

U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May criticized President Donald Trump for speculating about the bombing that took place on a London train on Friday morning.

Earlier on Friday, Trump was accused of betraying intelligence details by telling his 38 million Twitter followers that those responsible for an explosion on an underground train "are sick and demented people who were in the sights of Scotland Yard", before adding "must be proactive!" "Must be proactive!" Trump wrote in a post on Twitter.

His tweets tend to be aimed at his base, bolstering his image as tough on immigration and terrorism and with little thought to the wider world.

On Friday, he again stressed that the internet was a main recruitment tool for terrorists. "We have to be tougher and we have to be smarter". Trump said in the second tweet.

British police arrested an unidentified 18-year-old suspect in the London train bomb attack Friday morning that injured 30.

A senior US government official cast doubt on whether Trump was privy to information over whether the bomber in the west London attack was known or not.

He added: "The travel ban into the United States should be far larger, tougher and more specific - but stupidly, that would not be politically correct!"

The whole event was a little surreal: the President had gone outside to watch an 11-year-old called Frankie Giaccio mow the lawn (Frankie had written to the White House asking if he could) and ended up talking worldwide affairs.

"It is not something we would comment on", a spokeswoman said.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said her "thoughts are with those injured".

The arguments will focus on the legality of the ban on travelers from six Muslim majority countries and any refugees.

Khan, the United Kingdom capital's first Muslim mayor, responded to Trump's tweets on Friday by saying that, "I'm not going to go there". When seven people were killed in an attack on the London Bridge in June, Trump attacked London Mayor Sadiq Khan for saying there was "no reason to be alarmed".

Under the order, foreign nationals are banned for 90 days from six countries - Iran, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, and Yemen - and refugees lacking a link to the USA are barred for 120 days.
