A female Thor movie is a possibility for the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Ahead of its United Kingdom release this coming week, Marvel has unveiled another new clip from Thor: Ragnarok which features a rather tense meeting between Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) as the God of Thunder is challenged to win his freedom by competing in the Sakaar arena. Now, in 2017 has the four years away from the character given Thor a new lease on life?

Australian hero Chris Hemsworth returns to reprise his iconic role.

There's a moment in the Ragnarok trailers in which Hela, the leather-clad villainess played by Cate Blanchett, catches Thor's hammer (good old Mjolnir) out of the air and destroys it with her bare hand.

In short that's the plot, and while it seems a bit light summarising it here, it really doesn't matter because this movie flows so well, with no chance to catch your breath.

Mixing old characters with the new gives this latest sequel an air of familiarity but with added fun, especially when you throw in the likes of Jeff Goldblum, who is having a total blast, and a host of cameos you won't see coming. Ragnarok is already earning almost universal praise from critics and stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba, and Karl Urban. "Absolutely. Yeah, I'd like to see that movie".

New clips for the film are being released and squarely hitting the mark with fans (check the hilarious new clip of Thor and Loki meeting Grandmaster), and early reviews from critics are calling Thor: Ragnarok the best Thor film yet, thanks in large part to the fun atmosphere created by director Taika Waititi.

The answer is given within the first two minutes.

The post-credits scenes for "Thor: Ragnarok" will set up the events of "Avengers: Infinity War" as the God of Thunder will bump into the Guardians of the Galaxy, and they must journey to Earth to stop Thanos from getting the Infinity Stones. As one of the biggest juggernauts in the movie world, the MCU shows no signs of slowing down, but that doesn't mean each of the characters will get solo outings. It opens in cinemas on Thursday, October 26.
