Angelina Jolie was once part of a plot to capture Joseph Kony

Angelina Jolie Dating Again

Kony is wanted for war crimes by the International Criminal and is suspected of abducting thousands of children and turning them into fighters and sex slaves, the BBC said.

A plan unveiled by Luis Moreno Ocampo, chief prosecutor of the ICC, in an e-mail, who is among the 40,000 documents that have been leaked on Mediapart.

As a bonafide human rights advocate, Jolie herself has mentioned Kony in public before, explaining on "Nightline" in 2010 that she would be tempted to "take down" people like him if given the opportunity. "Apparently you can be embedded with the special forces that are chasing Kony", Campo reportedly wrote in 2012. "She is ready. Probably Brad [Pitt] will go also", he said in another email.

She replied that Pitt was "being supportive" and that they should "discuss logistics", however the trip seemingly did not happen.

"She loves to arrest Kony". Ocampo claimed that Jolie suggested luring Kony to a private dinner where he would be arrested.

Ocampo reportedly also reached out to George Clooney and Sean Penn with this idea. "I miss you." It went unanswered.

It's safe to say that Jolie and Ocampo's plan never came to anything, because Kony is still at large. According to The Sunday Times, an email to Jolie mentions the possibility of Pitt helping with the mission.

Jolie's agent declined to make any comment to Metro yesterday.

The Argentine lawyer is now at the center of a row over his connections to Libyan businessman Hassan Tatanaki, who was closely tied to the brutal regime of former dictator Col. Muammer Gaddafi.

'Someone is attempting to blackmail me using illegally obtained information, ' he told the newspaper. Moreno Ocampo thought there was a chance that Jolie's presence would draw Kony into a vulnerable position, where special forces could capture him and bring him to trial for crimes against humanity.

In 2009, the humanitarian had visited an ICC courtroom in the Hague to watch Moreno Ocampo successfully prosecute Congolese warlord Thomas Lubanga in 2009, which she described as 'a landmark trial for children'.

Jolie served as a United Nations special envoy and once decried Kony.
